Webelos is the part of the Cub Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America for 4^th and 5^th graders.  He will be apart of the eldest group of boys in the pack and he will begin to experience Cub Scouting differently than he would have in the earlier dens. Webelos Scouts are in this program for 18 months, beginning in fall and ending in spring of the next following year.  His goal will be to obtain the Webelos Badge by the upcoming spring Blue and Gold Banquet in March, and the Arrow of Light by the following one.  This is a transitional program that shifts emphasis from home-centered activities of the Tiger, Wolf and Bear Cub Scouts, to group-centered activities just like in the Boy Scouts. At the end of this program, your son will be ready for boy scouting.

Through your help, this program will provide your son a variety of new experiences that will help him assume responsibilities and gain maturity, knowledge and skill.  As a parent, you want the best for your son.  You want a close relationship with him, and you want to help him grow physically, mentally, and morally.  This part of Cub Scouting is designed to assist you in this endeavor.
